miniature open letter to apple, re: iPhone 4

let me just start by saying that i have long been a supporter of apple and its products. and i really have stood by apple regarding the uselessness of the iPhone as a phone but let’s get down to business… i’m going to go out on a limb and say that jon stewart was right on the money when he said that the iPhone is unusable as a phone.
UNUSABLE. A DISGRACE.
stewart kind of blamed AT&T and they are certainly part of the problem but you know what, screw that. i have probably had 2 miraculous calls that haven’t been dropped, EVER in the hundreds/thousands of calls i’ve made/received since i have got my iPhone 4. to me, this is a problem and i don’t think AT&T should be the sole to blame. apple got us into this and they can get us out.
here’s a rundown of places my iPhone does NOT work as a phone:
- at my house: this is super awesome cuz when i really need to get on an important call i have to go into the back yard where i get (get this…) 1 bar, and then everyone on my block can hear me.
- in my office: this is double rad since i work in communications and durrr…. it’s impossible to reach me by phone at my place of work
- on the street: you’d think in the open space that my phone would work. it doesn’t. it’s almost like it’s worse?
- name a place: i can pretty much guarantee my phone doesn’t work there either.
it saddens me that it’s come to this and that nobody from apple will probably ever read or see this amongst an internet undoubtedly full of similar complaints… but if you do. please help me fix my phone and i’d really like an iPad too.
OH, yeah, and i got that bumper thing right off the bat. Trouble is, it actually makes it worse!
FAIL.
